2009 proved to be a tricky financial year for many people, including the UK's racers and teams.  This was brought home to me at the season-opening FIA GT round at Silverstone where many of my racing 'peer group' (and myself) could be found wandering the paddock in civvies rather than overalls!

However, the year did bring me two fantastic races.  Firstly, my third attempt in a row to reach the finish line of the Spa 24hrs was doubly successful as I not only finished, but landed my first ever trip to the Spa podium!  Third time lucky, perhaps?!

My other race was another double-first - my first LMS race and first time in a GT2 car.  The result wasn't anything as spectacular as Spa, but we finished and I far from embarrassed myself competing at the highest level.

So, a steady year, but nonetheless further progression towards the end goal.  Roll on 2010!!
